When did you start riding?
I started riding when I was nine years old. I learned while I was on a family vacation in Fiji on the island of Namotu using a training kite and a longboard.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be & why?
Stiff legged fainting goat (ask Ian Walsh).
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Right now all you would find is RedBull! But I am stoked now since I got sent a RedBull fridge I will have more space for good food when I make it back to Maui!
What is the last book you read?
I have been reading “Service” which is a book about Navy Seals and the experiences they go through. It’s insane! Makes everything else in life seem easy! Can’t thank them enough for keeping the world safer from terror.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
I would want to be Superman!
If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?
I would be balsamic vinegar.
Favorite song right now:
I come apart by A$AP Rocky
Have you played in the dirt recently?
I did tons of mountain climbing in the mountains of Patagonia, Chile.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Remember how grateful I am to live this life.
As a professional athlete who travels around the world and sees different styles of
kiteboarding, what do you think about the status of kiteboarding right now? How do you see it evolving?
Kiting at one point was going so many different directions and now I believe the sport is settling into its disciplines. In the future I hope to see more of the massive King of the Air jumps.
