Interview

When did you start riding?
I started kiteboarding in 2002.

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Nutella

What’s your latest non-kiting obsession?
Snowboarding has always been my other obsession, I love powder!

Special talent(s):
Rollerblading in a big halfpipe.

Favorite dish to eat?
Brazilian food is the best! I would say my favorite is Camarão na moranga, which is shrimp and pumpkin.

When are you happiest?
In the water or snow.

There is no wind so I’m going to…
SUP in the morning then hit a waterfall.

What’s your dream travel destination?
Fiji looks pretty nice in the summer right now.

If your life were a song, what would the title be?
Don’t worry be happy J

If you won the lottery, what are the first three things you would do?
Travel the world in my private jet with my family and animals. Invest in some real estate along the way.  Donate my time and money to help those in need of food and shelter all over the world.

As a professional athlete who travels around the world and sees different styles of kiteboarding, what do you think about the status of kiteboarding right now? How do you see it evolving?
Kiteboarding is going back to the roots from when it started – the radical big air maneuvers from the King of the Air along with the strapless surf progression I see happening here in Hawaii is the future.
