June 8, 2019, Cape Hatteras, North Carolina – For the third year in a row, Naish’s Ewan Jaspan rode his Torch & Stomp to the podium of the Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational at Real Watersports in Cape Hatteras.
Now in its 14th year, the Triple-S is the premier kite park contest of the year with a long list of legendary kiteboarders who have competed throughout the years. Ewan won the event in 2017 and has followed with two second place finishes, this year by the tightest margin of only 0.2 points separating Ewan and the winner.
Contest conditions were perfect all week at the Real Watersports Kite Park and was the ultimate proving ground for the Naish Stomp. With its bomb-proof construction and sintered base, Ewan was able to put together a series of stylish and technical moves starting with his first Seatbelt Backside 720 off the KOA kicker. From there he put connected solid scores on the next four features for a score of 34, in the nine man final. As in years past Ewan had to wait a few days between the final round and closing party to find out the results. Following the awards ceremony, riders and attendees were treated to an epic show by The Roots on the Real Watersports lawn to wrap up the week.
Year-after-year, the Wind Voyager Triple-S continues to hold a very high standard for park style kiteboarding. Invitees are selected based on their results from the previous year or by winning the open qualifier. Safe to say Ewan will have a spot in next years contest but for now his eyes are set on the near future as he goes on his annual pilgrimage to Hood River, Oregon.
Beyond spending the next month riding the Slider Project Park at every possible chance Ewan will also be representing team Naish in the 2019 Kiteboard 4 Cancer event and looking to continue his 2019 Kite Park League world title campaign at the Patagonia Hood Jam. “I’m super stoked to take another podium spot though and motivated to go hard in Hood River,” said Ewan.
Be sure to follow Ewan for plenty of epic kite content coming this summer.
