April 18-19, Miami, Florida – Cleaning up the women’s pro division, #TeamNaish rider, Hope Levin takes first place in both Freeride and Slalom at the 2015 Miami Kite Masters, beating out Cabrinha’s Melissa Gil.
Perhaps the longest kitesurfing competition in Florida since its inception in 2004, the 11th annual competition is host to incredibly talented riders from around the globe—including our own Hope Levin, who determined to attend for the first time this year.
Light winds Saturday picked up for Sunday’s competition leaving Hope to spend most of her time on the Naish Fly and the 12m Torch. Explains Hope, “despite these challenging conditions, my gear helped me reach the top!”
Commenting on her win, says Hope, “This year I put [Miami Kite Masters] on my schedule early as I was determined to go! It was great to meet other riders in the area and winning the women’s event just perfected the weekend! Big thanks to Chris Ribot and Miami Kiteboarding for putting this event on for 11 years running!”
Fellow Naish rider, Drew Christianson also placed this weekend taking 3rd in both the Men’s Freestyle and Slalom categories.
